Hello!
It has been a while, but I am thinking of doing my next set of highpoints the last weekend of this month before school starts. Let me know what you think.

Eagle Mountain
Well.... I DID IT!!!!!!!!!! I am amazed. The weather predictions were completely wrong. I was so nervous for this one, but I didn't give myself enough credit. It was in no way an easy hike, but I didn't give up like I have so many times before. Thinking back to past geology field trips and field camp, I missed out on some amazing things because I gave up. I am so glad that is past me, no more giving up:). It is a beautiful 70 degrees up here, almost no clouds. Feeing great! Got to meet my first highpointer other than John and I. She was almost done on her 46th state, talk about amazing!!

Mt. Arvon
Take that!! This stupid highpoint tried to bring us down, but we would not allow it!!!! Drove for 6 hours on muddy bumpy dirt roads to get here but we did it. We came around from the other side. We were within 1 mile of the highpoint twice, but could not pass. The Garmin could get us there but there was no path or passable way to go. From now on we will use the directions from summitpost, NOT the Garmin. So glad we made it and it was an amazing view from the top. Overall good day.

My Michigan Adventure
Well...after two hours of driving on dirt logging roads to try and get to Mt. Arvon, we finally reached a road impassable by our Saturn. So I will have to return at a later time with a four wheel drive high clearance vehicle. Any volunteers??? I am disappointed that I will have to make the trip again at a later time, but at least it is not that far of a drive.

Timm's Hill
I did it(with the company of John and Timothy Turtle) first highpoint. Harder than all the blogs left to believe, but that could be because we took the long way :). It was a beautiful day, partly cloudy, light breeze and about 68 degrees. TONS of bugs. Now we are sitting at Hill of Beans Coffee shop where the highpoint log book is. Looking forward to a smoothie and piece of pie:)

Preparation Night

Super excited to start the trip tomorrow, gathering all supplies, packing all the food, and double checking we have everything. Got new hiking boots yesterday, wore them all day today. Hoping they won't cause problems later.
Picked up a new toy today. I plan on taking him on every high top trip. I picked it for lots of reasons....first off it green which is my favorite color, second off its small and light so it won't be too annoying to carry, and third its a turtle which represents that I am not the fastest hiker:) Hopefully it will be really funny as I climb the last high-point in Alaska, thinking about how far I will have come.
